Of the eight “Remarkable Gardens” in Calvados, three are in Lisieux Normandie. Gardens of water, roses, perennials, collector’s plants, rare trees and vast planting beds… The Pays d’Auge Gardens in Cambremer are definitely worth a visit.

Norman half-timbered buildings and eco-museum

The themed gardens create a stunning setting for a collection of traditional Norman half-timbered buildings. In one of them, an eco-museum showcases the tools and trades of yesteryear.

Enjoy a traditional galette or crêpe in the garden

Around forty savoury buckwheat pancakes or “galettes”, thirty sweet crêpes and a dozen salads are on the menu at the garden crêperie, housed in a magnificent building at the entrance to the gardens. An absolute delight.
